I need a set of child seat anchors for the back seat. It's a plate that bolts in under the rear seat, not the loops in the back window area.

Crap, no. I have the ones for the upper speaker deck. I tried getting some lower LATCH anchors for my 97, and they are unobtainable at any cost (other than a new vehicle). I have always wanted to manufacture my own, but I was told by many of authority that I should absolutely NOT make my own baby seat LATCH anchors, and just use the lap belt in accordance with the seat manufacturer's instructions. Those loops appear to be welded to the lower plate. Is the lower plat what you are looking to replace? Might check with Ed Morad unless that plate is spot welded to the chassis somewhere...

I would have to agree Back In Black, I can just see the liability issues. I think I would be afraid to do it even if I had welding certifications.

Yes, messing with a LATCH system without a proper GM tech is a big no no. Ive been using the lap belt but Im getting sick of how loose the seat looks/feels. Im thinking about taking my car and the exs car in to Pontiac/Buick and having the LATCH system retrofitted since I was told it can be done.

be sure you ask to see the parts that are in the 'retrofit kit' before they are installed. back when we got our regal, we asked about the kit, and the only thing available at that point was the top teather kit, not the lower LATCH kit. the upper kit consisted of a bare grade 5 bolt thru the rear deck, holding down a peice of metal (roughly 1/8th thickness) with a hole in it for the strap hook. it looked HORRID. and it would not even fit in the right place behind the seat, due to the speaker pods!

The ones on top are for forward facing correct?? If so I would imagine that those are the only two used. I know the lower ones are for rear facing.

Yeah, definatly dont want some POS brackets holding the seat down. Id probably use the lap belt ontop of it all anyway just cause IM paranoid like that.

yeah the top ones are for forward facing... when we've used those in my suburban, we use that in conjunction with the regular seat belt.
