Default GI: L32 rods

OK, I'm only considering selling these things because I'm thinking about doing an L26 short block....that said, I thought I'd put a feel out to see if anyone is interested in these. These things are brand spanking new, still wrapped up in their paper. I bought these a year ago to start a forged bottom end, but I'm starting to steer away from spending a butt load on a set of $900 pistons when I can get 3 short blocks for that price.

I would be asking $300 shipped. I don't think it's so bad considering that's already cheaper than what You could get from ZZP or anyone else. Also consider they're gonna be a tad bit heavy for a full set boxed up.

If nobody wants them, no biggie...I'll just keep them for another future project.

Please dont post things like this up here. I mean come on, didnt you read the rules?

They clearly state thou are not to post such parts that make SyntheticShield wimper.
I wish I could take them off your hands, I surely would. Right now I got too many projects as it is to add internal engine work too.

Sorry bout that, Scotty. I'm not "trying" to make you whimper. Actually, I'm the one that's whimpering because I'm still not totally sure on if I want to get rid of these. I'm probably not going to use them, but I'm a packrat of such things, and I know for a fact that I'm not gonna have over a grand in pistons and rods in this new engine. That's just to expensive if one little thing goes wrong.

I could still tear it down, replace a rod, piston, bearings and have a spare block ready to go or bore this one and still come out ahead.

ugh.

I dont want to hijack your thread, but I'll ask and you can PM or catch me on IM. But can you replace the pistons, rods, all that stuff with the engine in the car? I mean is it as simple (speak relatively) as pulling the oil pan and going in from there?

I don't think that is an easy task Scotty. I don't think the piston will fit out past the crank (I have never even pulled pistons out of an engine that direction). You would have to pull the head off to remove and install the piston and rod. So by time you have the head and oil pan off it probably would have been easier to pull the engine.

But on another note that was a good idea, on some of the large diesel engines at work we actually do this if there is a bad hole and there is low enough hours on the engine to justify this.
