Default Main reason for Amp to cut Out

What do all of you think is the maon reason for the amp to cut out/Over heat after a while. I hear Grounding I hear Gain to high on amp

WHat are somethings to do to prevent this

I have to ground going to on eof the Shock Mount Screws and the gain on the amp is about 3/4

Turn down the gain on the amp is one way, incorrect fuse, there are many different things that could be causing your issues.

Since your gain is at 3/4 do you have to bass boost on or the sub level on your headunit jacked all the way up, also check the internal wiring of the amp to see if anything has come loose (do so at your amps peril if you don't know how to, cmoa)

Are you runnning the correct guage of wire? What type of amp/sub/wire combo do you run? It could just be a crappy amp or your doing something wrong in the setup.

Sounds like your running to low of an impediance. Like running an amp at 2ohm mono when it will only run @ 4ohm.

I agree, how are the subs wired to the amp exactly?

Positive of sub number 1 goes to ch1 Positive on amp and Negitive of sub number 1 goes to Negative of Ch2 on amp Positive of sub number 2 goes to Ch 3 Positive on amp and Negative of sub number 2 goes to Negative of CH 4 on amp that is how the amp says to hook it up and the RCA jacks go in to Ch1 and CH3. It takes a while for it to cut out at high volume but it does feel super hot when it does cut out

I had a similar problem a few months back. I know you said you've checked the ground, but check it again. My ground wire broke partially at the strut mount nut and was only allowing an intermittent strong ground. The rest of the time, it was only partially grounded. What gauge power and ground wires are you using? Also, where is the amp located? Is it smothered or is it out where it can breathe easily?

Like Mr Book said, you may end up having to increase the sub output at the HU and turn the gain down to about half if nothing else is awry.

Is it a typo that sub 2 is hooked up to two positive amp terminals?
