Default How to put in a Nav system

Hi, This is my first time posting here so if this question has been asked before then I'm sorry.

I have a 2004 GP GT. The car is pretty much loaded with heated leather seats, HUD, Steering wheel contorls, and more. However I'm starting a new job in a couple of weeks and it requires a lot of travel. So I want to put in the factory Nav system. I need to know if I can do it and how. The current stero in the car is a CD & Tape deck player ( I have no Idea why there are tape decks in a 2004) and it is NOT a monsoon system. Can anyone help?

just get a pioneer avic d3 nav system it is actually about the same if not cheaper than the factory nav. It is only 699 at best buy right now and might can get it cheaper from somewhere online.

If you really want the factory nav there is a couple of write ups I can dig up if you want.

You know, I saw a OEM Nav system on ebay not too terribly long ago. It was for the 2004+ GP's but I sat and looked at it for a good long time contemplating if I could install it in my GP. With all the driving I do during storm season, it would be good to have.

Bonneville Club :: View topic - In Dash Navigation Unit.

this was actually the best I could find for right now, there are better ones out there but this should get you started, just make sure you dont use the same part numbers, haha.

I will keep looking for the better ones, heck if I have to I will buy one and do it in my own vehicle and make a write up for us.

i added this factory nav to my suburban, been around the block on this one

you'll need the delphi gm nav unit, not the denso. also, you'll have to watch out for the lux version vs non lux version of the nav units. your GP should take the non-lux unit (the factory amp would not be controlled by class II data in a non-lux situation)

aside from making fitment changes (if any) the wiring should actually plug right in and be good to go, since the gp's didnt use that dock-n-lock connector on the radio.
