Default have some simple questions

ok im getting a 2007 grand prix GT with the monsoon sound system next week from a friend.

my questions are

1. is it possible to hook up subs to the stock head unit?

2. could i use the monsoon amp to hook up the subs?

3. can i replace the monsoon amp and hook subs up to that one?

4. if i hook the sub to the amp, do i need to run any wires to the head unit?

thank you.

What I did was use a line output converter. Just wire it into your rear 6x9's and run your rcas from the converter box. But make sure you get a good quality one like the JL Audio clean sweep or Rockford Fosgate threesixty.1 otherwise at high volume the sub fades out.

You will need to hook up the subs through an aftermarket amp. You can buy a converter box that basicly converts 1 left and 1 right speaker wire into 1 left and 1 right rca outputs...wich then you could run to your amp. Since the stock head unit does not have a l+r rca's on it this is the only way i now how to do it. Maybe some one else has a better more profesional way

Amp and Subs is pretty much self preference. I'm partial to JL Audio. But for $500 1- Phoenix ZXTi600 and 2-Alpine TypeR 12's would be sexy.
