iTrader: (0) ![]() | The G8 is RWD, but GM is not going over to RWD totally. They canned most of their USA RWD projects except the G8 and Camaro. CAFE standards were their reasoning.

iTrader: (5) ![]() | Thats such a crock. That tells me right there that the G8 and the Camaro may not be around too long.

iTrader: (1) ![]() | they are committed to both of those cars as they are based on the Australian cars (no cafe there) and will sell, they are going to be niche cars so to speak.

iTrader: (1) ![]() | Yeah I'll be sooo Pi$$ed at GM if they drop RWD. I have my sights set on a new Camaro. Waiting for the first run bugs to be worked out. Then hopefully, fingers crossed, either they go through with the 500hp Z28 or if they bring back the T/A. That's what will become the GTPs big brother in my garage. ![]() The wife has already pre-approved me

iTrader: (0) ![]() | Guys, don't freak out so much. That article is 16 months old. GM still went through with the Camaro and G8 despite the issues because the projects were already so far along, and they're committed to these cars. The fewer Camaros and G8s GM sells, the less they hurt their CAFE ratings. Which, as was mentioned, the gas hogs are going to be a niche market and GM knows it. What happened that the article was talking about was stuff like the RWD Zeta based Impala got canned. They decided their number one selling sedan as a RWD wouldn't get good enough mileage, so they made the sacrifice of sticking with FWD for the Impala. A decision that upset a lot of people over at NAIOA, but like I said it's old news.
