Default Gas Prices!!!

We have all groaned about this, especially those of use with Superchargers or SUVs/Trucks.

I went to gas up tonight and it was $3.30 a gallon (93 Octane)!!! DURING WINTER!!!! WTH!!!!

Just cause *****ia is errupting in violence, the oil traders say hey! Lets jack up the price of oil!!! And of course our greedy oil companies immediately jump on the bandwagon and jack up the prices. I mean just last friday I gassed up for only $3.18 a gallon.

When I went home to Louisville just just before Christmas, I drove home on the Friday before Christmas, I gassed up in Evansville IN and it was only $2.98 a gallon (92 Octane) as compared to $3.15 when I came back home to St. Louis. I sware gas prices vary so widely its not even funny. I really think there needs to be more regulation on price control. I mean you can drive from St. Louis County out to Jeffereson County and it costs like 10 cents less a gallon. Just for driving an extra 10-20 miles out of your way. Its crazy.

One day this country is going to implode. We have been spoiled as compared to our European brothren who pay out of the tookus for their petrol. If we hit those kind of numbers here in the States, it will be mayhem.

Just another rant for the night

I feel better now

well, come summer your going to make another rant. should be over 4.00 a gal....

I personally dont care. gas is gas. I did like it when gas was up to 3.89 last summer and race fuel was only 4.99 a gall. I know what I chose. then the price on race fuel went up a buck. thats when I got a little peevd.

Truthfully, its kinda our own fault. First, we insist on having those huge SUV's that can seat a hundred people, but we just drive around with one person in them and they get like half a mile to the gallon. Im not against SUV's, but holy cow.

Secondly, we didnt scream enough when gas prices when through the roof after Katrina. Yeah, there was some up roar, but after a while we all got comfortable with it and we kept on going. Driving more than ever, consuming more than ever.

Now what I think is going to happen is that if prices continue to rise they are going to force the innovation and ideas to come forth that produce transportation that isnt as dependent on gas. I think that the oil and gas companies are shooting themselves in the foot because they are going to force people out of resentment to look for other ways to get around.

I for one, will be welcoming this. Im not against a company making a profit, I do not agree that there should be a windfall tax but lets get realistic. E85 is not necessarily the answer, but its a step in the right direction because it weans us of the foreign oil and the oil and gas companies have been dragging their feet on that one. As well, there are already other proven ideas out there that they have pretty much just shrugged off.

I would tend agree with your statement Syn, but when the Oil companies buy or make new inventions to steer us away from fossil fuels disappear *wink wink* its one of those "black helicopter" things ya know. They are truly evil. I understand people making a buck, but when a company complains they make 5 BILLION in profit in one quarter only to turn around and make ONLY 2.5 BILLION they say they are losing is that about? Come on!!!

It is no wonder that the top oil execs out there travel with a bodyguard detail. They know what they doing is basically stealing from the American People and give back little or nothing to us. They only take and take. They promise better and more research to help stem the use of fossil fuels but I have to call BUNK on that one. They smile and wink at you and behind your back they are flippin ya the "bird."

And like the other poster stated, I am not going to be surprised if gas hits $4 a gallon. It was pretty bad this summer, and back during Katrina, I only had my GP GT so it was not hurting me to greatly but now with my supercharged GTX I can really feel the difference!!

That is one thing I like about the Cadillac CTS. Even its Direct Injection engine that produces 306hp uses only REGULAR gasoline. I wonder if the new G8's, mainly the GTs are going to reguire premium gas or will they follow their Cadillac counterparts?

Sooner or later, and I am thinking sooner, this will come to head and heads will roll

But for now, like every other fossil fuel addict, I will keep sticking that syringe, the gas pump nossel, into my arm, till something else better comes along.

$3.17 for 93 is the cheapest I've found.

I saw $3.35 and went in the opposite direction.
