Well Joe.............

While I tend sometimes understand your broad and yet sometimes vague references to certain things............You have to take into account a few things here.

The President is the one who makes decisions that affect our country, but we do have a Congress and Senate to decide upon his actions. And in recent we have seen more than ever a divided Congress and Senate and lots of fillabustering*. Which always somehow gets related back to the President and how it's his fault for policy gone wrong.

Sometimes polictical topics tends to go the wrong way than intended. This type of topic would be best suited for the "rant" section and explain why you feel that way. And then maybe others would chime in give their two cents worth on the topic. By no means am I defending Bush or any other president with this post, but you just need to pick a topic as to why you say, "Down with Bush." Your posting would benefit from that greatly.

Just thought I would mention that.

I am a die hard conservative. I would rather have Bush in again than any of the 3 people we have now.

I will still vote for McCain this year but he is not a good conservative Republican. The good republicans didn't make the cut this year. However, I think McCain may have a better chance of winning against super liberal Obama.

FINALLY! Some one that gets it. This whole country seems to want to point the finger at the president and they just conveniently overlook everyone else involved. It just irks me to no end when I hear people talking at work "Bush lied", "Bush did this", "Bush did that" and so on and just completely ignore that we do have a check and balance system. If he did lie, the ALL of Congress was in on it. And that goes for other things as well, the President does not handle national security by himself. He is not the sole decision maker. Furthermore, how many can say they TRULY know both sides of the story? We dont see all the information he and congress are presented with. We arent privvy to the briefs, intelligent reports, and so on. We see what the media gives us or what we can research on our own, the few that actually do that. We have more of a very general global view while the President and congress have detailed and specific information.


I too am extremely conservative, though I do not consider myself a Democrat or Republican. I have long held the belief that we are each tasked with the responsibility to research each person/canidate and determine which is best whether they be Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. We as citizens should not be voting for a party, we should be voting for a qualified canidate. Too much is placed on whether a person is one or the other and that just completely moves focus off the qualifications and quality of the person.

We do more screening and background checks on a fast food employee than we do of the people we vote into office and give the power to make laws and direct this country and there is something shamefully wrong with that.

I firmly believe there is no such thing as a good politician, they do not have the countries best interest in mind, they have their own pockets in mind. I also believe we do not have a 2 party system, deep down there is no difference between the republicans and democrats as both are doing the same thing trying to screw the other guy
