With the democratic candidates we have right now if you are conservative you almost have to vote republican. These are the 2 most liberal senators in the country. However, McCain isn't exactly a stand up conservative either.

Everyone claims BUSH lied about Iraq. We were told that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction by leaders in Iraq. They bluffed and we called it hard. They may very well have had something and it is now outside of the country. I do not like war. It sucks. But if we leave Iraq now we wasted a lot of time, money, and soldiers lives. I wish I could be over there but my hearing is horrible so I could not get in. I tried 3 times during the worst part of the war and I couldn't.

Yes SS I do get it sometimes

As another person stated, there are truly no good politicians. The very word politician itself is an oxymoron*. They will politic for what is paid to their bank account. NOT for what is good for the common man. MAYBE back in the early days of the United States we actually had politicians that faithfully held their principles close to their vests. But now, you see ALMOST every politician selling out to big interest groups.

Also every campaign is driven now by money and greed, it is no longer based on principles. Though politicians claim they are in it for the people, that is entirely NOT true! I think MAYBE the only politician(s) that would still fall into that category would be Ron Paul or hell even Ralph Nader (not that he is a politician persay). Both have done their best to tick off both sides of the table. And frankly that is what this country needs.

A WAKE UP CALL!

I agree with you to some extent. I believe there are good politicians. The problem is those that do try to hold to some moral ground or stand for something usually have little to no support from either the country or peers and thats hard to do for all but the very grounded person.

We cannot look at the President (Democrat or Republican) or congress or even local offices and just write it off as to no good politicians. The people in there are voted in by us. The behavior they exhibit, the morals and values the exercise are tolerated and therefore propagated. The people in office are a reflection of us and what we are willing to put up with. Contrary to popular belief, the people do still have the power and if we fail to exercise that then we have but ourselves to blame.

I think this is, at least in part, why Mr. Bush is so unpopular. I believe he has a vision, whether you or I agree with it or not, he has one and is bound and determined to see it through. And our present day society does not tolerate one that is willing to endure and press forward toward a goal. Our society expects that if it disagrees with you that you change course no matter the purpose, goal or direction. Mr. Bush, while having taken some actions Im not always comfortable with, has nonetheless stuck to his guns and has pressed on and I do respect that.

Another issue we have as a society is that we generally feel that if we disagree with someone we can no longer support them. In other words, you are doing something I am against or disagree with so Im going to write you off all together and even if you propose something I think is a good idea, well I disagree with you elsewhere and therefore cannot support you as it might look bad.

I think it is horrible that we have come to that because you do not half to agree with all the one does in order to support them. I can still support and voice a positive opinion for Mr. Bush even if I do not totally agree with all that he has done.

Im not afraid to voice my opinion nor speak out about it. Likewise, I am not so ignorant and stubborn headed that just because I dont agree with you on anything that I cannot come to your side and support or help you in a time of need. My opinion and beliefs on matters does not negate humanity and does not cloud my perception that sometimes you have to stand behind a good proposed idea no matter who has it.

While I also tend to stay away from political discussions....and there's a GOOD reason I do. I used to get into pretty heated arguments over political parties, and I just came to the conclusion you have to pick the lesser of two evils when voting, especially for president.

Voting is important, and your opinions on the people in office are important. But the most important thing out of all of this to learn is to do your background research, and find the facts. Don't simply listen to media....they twist things bad, and just because your dad or mom likes democrats....that's not a good reason to vote. My wife's parents are that exact way, yeah I think it's silly to simply vote for a guy because of his political party. Just remember, the ballot you cast will possibly shape the outcome of US economics for the next 10 years. It's a right that people take for granted.....but it's not a game.

I myself don't vote, I sit back and watch the world go by, and adapt as well as I can. Is it wrong? some might think so, but it's how I live my life, not how I expect everyone else to.

3 people? correction 2
and im gonna tend to say that neither Clinton or Obama are "super liberal"
example of super liberal: The Green Party
i would say they are both moderate liberals

and i will say this if the divide in democrats does not heal McCain has a good chance but if it does heal it will be to close for me

but.... dont delete this unless it gets to out of control which could be quick or may never happen

There are no plans to delete this unless it gets out of control. Im not offended when people disagree with me and I hope others have the same view. Its part of life.

I agree with all you said... just one thing. If you don't vote, don't complain.

Being in the military adds a different side to my voting this time. I'm picking my new boss...
