If the engine is stock you can install a shift kit which goes in the accumulator housing of the trans and is accessable with the transmission in the car, you just have to drop the lower pan and remove the accumulator assembly. The best upgrades are internal and can make the trans not only have much quicker and firmer shifts but also upgraded parts can be added if needed and this is dependant on your mod list. If the car is stock or near stock then installing a shift kit will help to firm up the shifts a bit. I suggest using either the Intense or Thrasher shift kit if this is the route you want to go as they are the most complete kits. There are a few cheaper kits floating around but arent going to give a very noticable difference and the above mentioned kits include new springs which help out. |

| Would the PCM have to be tuned for a shift kit? Also under normal and aggressive driving is this "harder" on your transmission? Thanks.

| The pcm does not require tuning for the shift kit though it will enhance the effects of it. Just installing a shift kit is one way to get around having to tune for firmer shifts but again will help even more with a tune. |
