| GTP Level Member | Try dave's website I think he had some info on something like the difference between trans. Tripleedgeperformance.com, if the info isn't on there maybe he will chime in soon, but he is a busy guy.

| Transmission Expert | The GT trans has a 3.29 overall ratio and the GTP trans has a 2.93 overall ratio. The GTP or HD trans also has a larger differential dubbed as the HD diff, also why it is called an HD trans. Everything else is the same and your GT trans can have an HD diff added to it for a bit more strength.

| GT Level Member | the size of the TQ converter and flywheel is diff also... gt is half the weight of the gtp and the gt is 245 mm and the gtp is like 257mm (i think).. and if i can remember right most aftermarket tq converters are just beefed up gt converters... |

| Transmission Expert | Good point and something else that should be noted as far as differences. The HD converter is a 258mm, you were WAY off lol. I prefer those as they have a larger more durable lockup clutch in them and the weight difference isnt that much, its a couple of pounds differences dry. Most aftermarket converer companies do just use a small bodied converter as it allows higher stall options and is lighter, but will cost a small amount of top end efficiency. The flywheel is different as the HD converter has a slightly larger bolt pattern which can be modified in a few different ways to work with either converter.
