iTrader: (7) Rep Power: 2 ![]() | From a short read, it pretty much depends on the blends of fuel you have. If you start with 100 octane race gasoline, then that is your starting point. Blending in different additives with a higher octane rating will result in a higher total octane rating in the final product. I updated the first post with a little more information.

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 0 ![]() | i have a question: i have a 97 GTP, bought it 14 months ago, always ran it on 86 octane (in NM regular is 86, not 87), never encountered problems, such as knocking. i recently filled up on premium 91 octane (ive used 4 gallons so far, i burn a gallon a day) i see no difference. so is it really important? |
