Angry Thats it, Im burning the ***** down

Iv had it.

I am going to burn the son of a ***** to the ground and walk away.

First car starts freaking out with the maf, runs ""OK"" with out it.

Now on the way to dinner got on it for a second it miss fired at the very top end of range. Let off and car died started it back up and it dies if i don't get on the gas. SO now i have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running. If im at a stop light i can gently let off the gas and it is fine, rev it it dies. Get to where i am going hook maf back up it starts and stays running but it idles 2-3kthen just surges.

Now taking off from a stop light car just says f you off the line and barely goes then it is into power.

Other than that engine sound is normal, no knocking or ticking. No smoke, no water in oil and vis versa.

I really wish i had the money to get new car but i dont. But at this time i cant trust this car to get to a basic point a to b

Damn... Sorry to hear that. Drop it off at a repair shop and have them look at it. Sounds like it may or may not be a easy repair. Welcome to the fun of owning a car

Similar problem to what I have, when you take off from a stop, does it surge a little a couple times then catch and go like normal????

Maybe look at FPR ??

Been there too my man, to the point it would be easier to set it on fire and permanently fix the problem and get a new car, than spend more time trying to find it.

Oh too common with my car, about once a year, she copes a big old F-You attitude with me and drives me nuts trying to fing the problem. But, its not only always a learning curve...it makes you smarter and faster and working on them, and trouble shooting.

Sounds like you have either a bad or faulty MAF sensor, a bad vacuum leak, or even a fuel related issue, like a fuel filter, or even your FPR. Or, even a bad ground. Believe it or not...a small electrical problem can make these cars run like total ass, just think and remember how much runs through the PCM, and you interrupt that, and your car will go into limp mode, and cause you more problems than the one thats out there.

Step by step start tracking down possible things it could be, and if you have a nice local with a working car, switch parts over as a way of it being a check list as you go.

Ok well i can tell you the maf is already dead car runs better with out it even before this fiasco.

Good news is i foudn the problem one of the "T" Under snout there was a very very small crack electrical tape fixed it.

Bad news is when i started the car i noticed the gas needle was pointing STRAIGHT down was touching the temp needle. Filled with gas and it is back to normal.

So, had a vacuum leak did ya? Those can be trouble some.

I was also thinking about your problem today while working, and even though you should check into your IAC (Idle air control) solenoid but if the leak on your "T" fitting fixed it, then there ya go.

But it would be a good idea to go ahead and fix your MAF problem.

He swung by my work today and I brought a spare MAF for him to try out. Hopefully that will fix the rest of the issues for him.

crossing fingers here.

Just amazing how one little tiny thing can make them sound, and feel as though there is a huge problem at hand.
