Default down pipe

I have a very nice one on my car made by a CGP member. It is 3" mandrel bent aluminum and he specifically used a double wall flex. I have it headerwrapped and sprayed. It is catless and bolts to stock or aftermarket exhaust.

Once I get my headers on, it will be for sale. That could be two months or sooner. Not sure what I'll ask, but it's in beautiful shape.

Powerlog is better than any PEM, and I wouldn't even mess with a rear PEM.

btw Curt Hogan makes downpipes for 3800performance and wbodystore and of course you can order directly from him.

x2 The powerlog is the best for the front. I was impressed with mine. I wasn't expecting much gain from it, but it was noticeable.

I wish I would have stuck to my guns on the rear PEM. I recently got one and tonight I was extracting an O2 plug in it and I don't see much that is done to it. And it is a reputable PEM from the now defunct Hulkspeed. I'd like to see a stock one to compare, but I can't imagine you could gain more than 1 or 2 hp from porting the rear. Unless the EGR tube really butted into the #6 primary. I don't think I will even go to the trouble to install it.

Agreed.

I did compare (visually) a hulkspeed to a stock, and in my uneducated opinion no way was the rear PEM goiing to be worth the time or money. After looking at two different front PEMs next to a stock, I decided not to install the PEM and just ordered a powerlog. Sure you can remove material and polish the openings, but then there is the inside that can't be opened or smoothed.
I realize that "back in the day" PEM's were all that was available, but a lot has changed since the beginning.
