Default Valve Spring replacement...

Where do you get an air hold tool to screw into a spark plug hole? I know it needs to be be long to reach the hold, a standard parts store version won't work. Will a no fouler work??

Also, which valve spring tool do you recommmend? The pry bar style or the cork screw style? Which is the easiest, especailly for the rears? I'm loooking to get all this stuff fairly local.

FYI, i'm installing CC 105 Springs, Retainers, Viton valve seals, PRJ rocker bolts for my 1.9 rocker setup.

Crap, I'll watch this thread with anticipation as Im going to be doing valve train upgrades before long.

As for the air hold tool, I dont recall seeing any locally but I have seen them on summit. I know you wanted to get it locally, but is this what you need:

Moroso Spark Plug Air Hose Kits: MOR-62385 - summitracing.com

as far as the air tool for the spark plug thread.....you can pick it up at any parts store...should be part of a compression check kit.

I recomend the cork screw type....it fits into small spaces quite easily...just watch out for the valve locks...they like to fly everywhere

I've got both compression tools. I honestly prefer the pry bar type. Thread the bolt in, compress, use a magnet to pull the locks out and pull the spring.....then reverse.

Too many times have I had springs want to pop off of the corkscrew type, and that really hurts when you're not wearing gloves.

Also, yeah, compression tester kit. Get one that is made out of a rubber hose, not nylon. It'll make it easier to twist when you're threading it into the heads.

And don't forget to take the schrader valve out of the end of it.
