Default Intake & Exhaust

These are going to be my first two mods but I want to do my homework first.

Intake: I've heard great things about the Wizaired, and a friend of mine with a '97 GT has the K&N cold-air kit which looks and sounds amazing.

Opinions? I'm naturally looking to hear from those who have the Wizaired or the K&N on their NA 3.8's and for the pros & cons.

Exhaust: Was looking for opinions on the SLP Powerflo system, sound qiality/gains, etc.

Also, what kind of gains could you see from the ZZP 2.5" downpipe and test pipe combo?

I'm a college student and have a seriously lengthy commute every day so I'm not looking to go hardcore with the modification, just make it a little more fun to drive.

Thanks in advance.

Search. We've beaten the topic to death. What needs to be said has been said.

After searching, if you have some more specific questions I'd be happy to see if I can answer them.

Best method you can go with for the exhaust system is buy some headers/3" downpipe, get the mufflers of your choice. Then go have the rest of the piping done at a local shop.

I have both the SLP exaust with the GTX tips, and the wizard CAI with an AEM filter and i think ive spent my money well, i gotta say tho puting on the exaust was a big PITA, getting the old exaust off took me all morning, the bolts to the DP were almost welded on so i cut them with a saws all, putting the new pipes on was a breeze, when i was done the reward was worth it, the exaust is on the quiet side but its real deep and gurgles around 2,500 grand when u let off the gas, it sound pretty mean, if u add an aftermarket DP it would definitly make it louder. As far as the wizard, to me its a really good design, the PCM stays nice and cool and away from the heat behind the insulated casing and forces the filter to only suck in cold air. so 5 out of 5 for those 2 mods

P.S the SLP exaust has alot of cabin drone to it at steady speeds

not to knock wizard cuz i have no doubt its the best design but from one college student to another.... make your own. get some 3" or bigger pvc plastic with a small bend and a 3" connector. and but some sheet metal while your there cut it in a wizard type box and bolt slash rivit it together. im sure some of you think its ghetto but i painted it heat shilded it and it looks pretty bad ass plus my mpg went up about 4 and its a hellofa good driving mod. like i said im sure wizard is better but i spent 50bucks total including glue and paint
