Default I'm new! And lost!!

Okay. I was just reffered to this site from cardomain.com.
I have a 2002 grand prix gt, the 3.8 v6. Yeah!
Anywho. Maybe you guys can help me.
My car has been acting REALLY funny lately, and I don't know what's up with it..
Like everytime I accelerate, it doesn't want to go..It starts to freak out at 2000RPM's, And kind of like, jumps a bit.
I personally think it's the tranny. But I've been told it's just a clog in my filter or something. I don't facking know.
It's just acting really sluggish, and won't go how it used to. It kicks in after I get to about 50MPH..and sometimes it doesn't even do that!
If anyone can help me, that'd be SWEET!!! I can give you more info also on how it's acting if you like..That's just a general description.
PLease help, thanks!! =]!!!!

had this happen on a 99 GTP. Look at a scanner we saw the #4 cyclinder was misfiring. replaced the plug wires and all has been good for a few months.

It could be any number of things though, like the fuel filter mentioned above.

There's a few "simple" things you could do that the dealership would do before recommending any major service. As already mention, check spark plugs and wires, change the fuel filter, also consider changing tranmission fluid and filter. If you can't remember when any of this has done, then it's probably time!

if SES light is on...your able to have someone scan it.

however if it is not on..I am leaning toward a clogged Catalytic converter. as it is not allowing the exhaust gases to escape and pluging up your engne. how many miles do you have on your car?
