Default fuel filter

ok i need to replace the fuel filter on my car because the lady a brought it from i dont think ever changed it and the car has 112K so it well over due. from my knowledge i believe that it is an in tank filter and if so what is the easiest way to replace it.

It's located outside the tank, on the drivers side along the frame rail.

Reptile has the location correct. But if it has never been changed before, you are going to want to soak the fittings with a penetrant before you try to loosen them. PB Blaster usually works pretty well for me. I would suggest doing it a couple days in a row before you change it.

^^Very true. Also, you will NEED to use a set of line wrenches....if you don't, you will very likely run the chance of rounding off the nuts. Also, when you start to loosen them up, you may want to back them off a tad, then apply more lubricant and then tighten them back up to work the penetrant into the threads. Then repeat to take them loose again.

i soaked mine every day with pb blaster for a few days and still had to vise grip it and beat on it with a hammer to get it off good luck!
