Default Integra/New GTP Input

Alright everyone - with the price of gas quickly rising along with my bad mpg and having to use super premium... I need to think of an alternative for this summer.

I have come to 2 alternatives:

1. Buy an integra as a DD (30+ MPG on regular gas), and then keep the GTP for a toy as I will be modidng it in the near future.

or

2. Sell the GTP, buy an integra DD for this summer and winter, save up some cash, and buy a newer 2001+ GTP fully loaded in spring with less miles and more modding opportunity.

This is a rough decision, as I really like my GTP right now, but I just don't feel like it is practical to own 2 cars right now... I dont really know!

Any input on this would be great. Also, anyone have experience with an integra GS or LS? My buddy has one and swears by it having no problems, and says they are extremely easy to work on yourself.

Thanks!

Think of how much gas it would have to save you if it was going to pay for the cost of buying and insuring (even liability) another car? Usually isn't worth it unless you sell your current one.

I'd try to figure out why your MPG is so low.

I get about 20 MPG with a mix of city and hwy.... highest MPG ever was 23 all hwy.... that is pretty low IMO.

I have already changed spark plugs, wires, thermo, fuel line, gaskets, o-rings, alt rewire, voltage booster, etc etc... Although it increased the MPG some, it didn't make a great difference. However, I will be replacing my fuel filter and lower motor mount in a few weeks with Jacob (UR LOSN)... so maybe the fuel filter just needs to be changed....

Anything else that would lead to such low MPG?

If you know someone that can tune your car get it tuned for mileage. You won't save anything by buying another car. Even if you sell your car and have to make higher monthly payments you still won't come out ahead.

Holy cow, my Isuzu gets as good fuel mileage as your GP. It started out at 17mpg, but Ive been playing with it, things here and there and now I have it up to 23 mpg mixed driving though more highway driving.

My GP before it got parked would easily do 32mpg all highway. There's got to be something going on with it. I can generally do low 20's with all city driving depending on how much I use my foot.

PM me when you get a chance or catch me on IM at some time and we'll see what we can come up with.

Well I already replaced the spark plugs, wires, thermo, air filter, fuel pressure line, etc.... I will also be replacing the fuel filter next weekend. I'm hoping it helps, but we'll see. For now I'm still getting about 23 MPG mixed city/hwy

Scotty, I'll shoot you a PM - maybe you have some ideas to help me bring it back up.

23mpg mixed is pretty good, all highway you should be upper 20s - low 30s(depending on speed and wind)
