I have a friend who "gets" them from the parts store at a "discount". I'll ask him how much for some.

You're not going to find much that's significantly brighter than the originals unless you go HID.

Narva Rangepower +30 will be brighter, and I believe GE Nighthawks may also be +30 (available at most stores, including Walmart). These +30 high efficacy bulbs are a different specification than regular 9007. Although they consume the same power, they are rated at 1450 vs 1350 lumens at 12.8V for the low beams, and 1095 vs 1000 lumens for the high beams. These are the only way to safely get brigher halogen bulbs. With higher wattage bulbs it's not a question of if they'll melt something, it's a question of whether the wiring or the capsules will melt first.

I'd stay away from the blue coated (hyperwhite, superwhite, etc) bulbs. The blue filter makes them whiter, but a filter (which is designed to block some light) will never make a bulb produce more light. Here's more information about blue bulbs.
