| You're going to need outside torx bits I believe it is, that and being extra careful with pulling it apart. Ive been wanting to do this with mine as well, and I dont know if it already is, but Ive got some heat sink compound for the regulator as well.

| Are you serious? Can you get a box end in there? Enough to back off a bolt?

| well those atach all the little things so unless you want to tape it off yes it has to come off but other wise the case should come apart.

| you dont need a box end and a torx bit if you have an air powered ratchet. and no, i dont believe that they are reverse/right hand thread. one should be able to hold the serpentine pulley and use the air powered ratchet to remove the nut. |

| I've never seen any delco that used reverse threads on the pulley nut. do you have access to an impact driver tool? (kind where you HIT the tool with a big hammer, and it turns the oposite end? it's gonna be on there TIGHT so it might need an air ratchet or impact driver tool |

| Yeah I have an impact wrench, but its in the garage and its like 2 degrees out so I will try that when it warms up a little. Thanks for the help and is there anything to watch out for when I pull the case apart. |

| I want to dress up my alt. I went to an alt shop and and they have one that has been sand blasted and the other side was painted a gray cast aluminum. They want 91 bucks completely rebuilt. I would love a chrome one, but durability and cost wise, I don't think it is possible. Would this be the best route? Would I be able to sell my original Alt?
