Yeah those GTOs owners were "stuck on stupid." A stock 5.7 GTO is a mid 13 sec car a 6.0 is a low 13 sec car although some have gotton 12.9s out of them stock. A 05-06 GTO is a little bit lighter than a G8 anyway so stock for stock i'm betting a race would be close but with equal drivers I suspect the GTO to be a couple teeths faster at least.

the G8 was only 2 tenths behind the charger in the 1/4. 13.6 to 13.4. the G8 is damn good lookin IMO but then agian the charger is deff meaner lookin. as for the gto, 6.0 is a must. if your going with the 5.7 mine as well go with a camero or trans am. gto's just way to much. i was beating a manual 5.7 gto in the 1/8th. something about fast 4 doors is just cool tho i think

I personally would get a GTO simply because my mom had a GTO and I remember it VERY vividly.

I like the G8 from the performance aspect, but it like the 04+ GP's seems too plain to me (no offense to anyone). Definitely not the Pontiac Ive been used to all these years. Pontiacs have always 'looked' fast and mean to me even if they weren't actually so. Its always been the Pontiac styling that drew me in, but recently it seems they are trying to go too Euro or something.

i kinda agree a little bit. the back end is not all that apealing but the front end deff looks meaner than the 03 and olders. and i think the g8 puts them all away. looks absolutly astonishing from the front. mean and edgy and just rounded perfectly. get yalls tunel vision off the 03 older models
