| Has anyone owned (or still does) a 4.7 Dodge Dakota? The GF has one in for service and they want 80$ to change spark plugs for her. Does that sound a bit high? Is there anything complicated about the swap? They were just putting in regular plugs, no high performance or anything.

| Like toasty said, probably an hour of work and inflated part prices. But do the plugs really need changed?

| Yea, the plugs need to be changed. I figures probably an hour for labor (76.xx) is their hourly rate. We picked up some plugs today so I'll be doing them this weekend. Looks like its coil on plug action so it'll be something new.

| Well I service vehicles locally and one of my customers has a Dakota but its the V6 (3.9L I believe). And I service it from front grille to rear bumper for him. I wont say its a completely easy job but its no harder than doing the plugs in the Grand Prix. The V8 I can see being slightly more difficult because I would think it is recessed more in the engine bay. Ive serviced some older Ford Expeditions with the 5.0L V8 in them and you have to get to the spark plugs down through the wheel well area and I would suspect the V8 Dakota is probably going to be a similar thing, but Im not speaking from experience so take it for what its worth.

| Yea, the dakota looks like it will be pretty easy. It uses coil on plug and they are all pretty easily accessible. There are 2 that are blow the air intake/lines but that should all get out of the way pretty easily. Im just glad they are on top
