What have people who have done full rebuilds used
My instructor said 30 non detergent is good and to run it for 1000 miles then im going royal purple or mobil 1

If your engine is supposed to be run on zinc heavy oil then Lucas break-in oil isn't a bad choice. Helps the valve train out so I hear since a lot of old engines are designed to run on high zinc oil and that simply isn't available widely yet apparently oil producers are introducing a "classic car" oil line with high zinc equivalent content.

Yea I wanted to run all royal purp but dont have that kind of cash for just oil The instructor said the non detergent oil has the zinc and what not in it and to run it for 1000 miles to help harden compenents such as cam and what not
Plus the 30 non detergent oil i got was 4 bucks a quart but the guy at kragen hooked it up and charged my like 2 bucks saying it was a "sale " item

anything with high zinc equivalent sh*t in it should be good.
