Default 4T65-HD in the trunk?

I've heard of the done before, anyone do it? I imagine it takes a couple guys to life it in there. Will the deck lid close? I plan on doing this in a couple weeks. I plan on removing all the carpet, take out the spare tire and jack out of the well... and laying down some blankets. Any suggestions? I hope ass squat ain't too bad...

The guy that I bought my spare tranny from brought it to me in the trunk of his GTP all the way from OKCY area. It did take both of us to get it out of there though. I dont remember how much it made it squat down though.

shoot you can fit more than a trans in the trunk...

^that same trunk (94 olds cutty Before rear engine) hauled a intake to pan 350sbc from jefferson WI to palatine IL.
65e/hd will fit into a GP trunk no problem, a 4t80e wont (we tried lol)

dont laugh... i do beileve the 80's are done/in progress (at least the front, think the rear engine, too eventually) --- turbocharged406sbc has a TON of pics on the local ilgpc board, including case modding the 4T80e to fit the wbody 3800 (not to mention the INSANE ammount of polished items in the engine bay(s)

What would be the advantage of being able to put a 4T80E in our car over the 4T65E?

make a forum for the 4t80e so i can post my and jeff's (pontiacJeff on bonnevilleclub.com) info

IS is bigger, dry sump (1 primary, 1 secondary-perfect for a trans brake, and 1 scavenge oil pump), 4th gear clutch hub is 4 times the size of the 65 and the 4th gear clutch packs can EASILY hold full boost in 4th gear, equal length acxles eliminate Tq steer

and its only 65lbs heavier than the 65ehd

4t80e vs 4t60e
