| SE Level Member | Re: Indiana GPC Summer Shootout As of June 1st, if we can not get a minimum of 40 cars registered, we will need to open our event to all cars. At first when IndyGPC mentioned our Indiana Summer Shootout to our surrounding state clubs, we thought we were going to have a good turnout, but unfortunately, this has not been the case. We currently we do not have enough preregistered cars to hold a closed event. We will place a maximum of 100 cars for this event and after June 1st it will become first come first serve. Our car show on the Saturday July 12 will be open to all makes and models as it is a charity car show and all proceeds will go do the Payton Manning’s Children’s Hospital. | Transmission Expert  | Re: Indiana GPC Summer Shootout Sorry you guys couldnt get enough people but its hard to pull $50 to race at a mediocre track when you can go on weds for $15 and sat for $25- and the track is in its best condition on saturday undoubtedly! You could always have a group meet on a normal race day or test and tune day and then just pay normal gate pricing. The IL guys last year got together with US41 on a Sunday test and tune day and had a special line and race time for the Prix club guys and it was only normal gate pricing. We went out there with a handful of local guys and it was a pretty decent track but about a 3 hour drive from Fort Wayne. I havent been to muncie since the track was redone so hopefully it is better than it used to be! Im not sure the extent of the new surface other than pics I saw on their website which looked much better. Seriously though, I would give the track a call and see if they could squeeze in a line or two during a normal race day just for the prix club guys to race each other and it would be much cheaper and wouldnt require a lot of people to do.
