| Well I owned a 06 SS S/C. I liked it..I think the new turbo ones are running in the high 13s stock.....13.9 @ 102.5 mph (165.0 km/h) Got this off of Wiki.

Why did you sell the SS Jess? Mod it any? Ever run it? I drove one a long time ago and it felt like a dog, but comparing them to my GTPs ain't too fair. Curious how one would be with a few mods. Wish they came in an auto. I heard the Turboed one was a bit faster. I may have to drive one sometime....

| The Turbo ones are pretty quick especially with the no-lift shift feature where you don't have to use the clutch for the 1-2 upshift only when going WOT...for the price you can't gripe I mean 260hp and Brembo 4 pot-cali's up front? In a Cobalt!?!?! lol I'd rock one for a DD. One guy tossed down a 13.665 @ 104.25...at least he is honest in his video about his competition...YouTube - Stock Cobalt SS/TC 1/4 Mile But in the end it is your money do what you want...they don't have a good aftermarket either besides basic bolt-ons because GM didn't really want them touched and they are so hard to tune/mod... Honestly...they look all wired up and s**t to me I wouldn't want to touch one with a 10 foot pole like the 3.4 DOHC GTP's in the 90's...http://www.media.gm.com/us/powertrai...0CBS%20LoR.jpg

| That might be great and all but the clutch that comes with it can barely hold 300 ft.lbs. Anything over that they start crapping out...and good luck getting it warrantied out with mods...

I'll keep my family sedan that powns most anything on the road...hell even SRT8 chargers have been beat by my car...I'm just saying with a new platform you've gotta let the bugs get out. I wouldn't get near it until a year or 2 out...just like the Camaro...

| I think if the other cars had done the honking the result would've been a little less extreme. Seems to me like he was spooling it up and when he got the boost he was after he'd honk immediately.

| There is no way. The people he is running (The Cobra can't drive for one...or it would have waxed the floor with that POS), Jeep's are slow. A turbo Ecotec LS is something to laugh at. An SRT4 Caliber can be beat by SS/SC Cobalts and that WRX had a catback...whooptie do. There is more he isn't telling you. Probably a boost controller of some sorts too so just wait and see how fast his car is back in the shop because there is a rod sticking out of the bottom of the block.

| None of the from what I can tell are kids... can drive, let alone race. Some are rolling off a dig (weak sauce) and then the horn honks are a joke. One vid I seen there was a SRT4 or like car totally jump out of no where. silly pointless "street" racing in those cars are reason enough to end the whole scene. Back when we had real cars (not just the big 3) but real cars that on a track can run 11's or 12's running on a open road, where there is NO traffic to kill someone but ourselves, is real street racing.

| the cobra was reeling it in. even with the miss shift and buddy in it the whole time the cobra was still coming back. he just couldent shift at all. it probably is a mid 13 sec car. a mid 13 sec girly car... the guys i ran into at the track with the supercharged balts thought they were so bad. with superchargers screaming they never did much better than mid 14's. kinda of smerked at me when they first say my car, then after i ran they wouldent even run or look over at me. something about a little car makes you feel like your flying.
