There are fast cars out there, and there are good sleepers out there too. But are you sure your car is a mid-high 12 sec car in full street trim? Have you proved it at the track? I'm not trying to knock you or your car at all, don't take it that way. But unless you have solid numbers the tables maybe turned, that ricer maybe of been in the 12s itself. Theres no telling honestly. I'm just throwing that out there, anything is possible...

Am I positive? no. I am pretty sure though. I prety much tune my car as if i am racing it at the track with a cupple exceptions. So if thats what you ment by streat trim then yeah It will do it in street trim. Im not for taking all of the seats out ect lol. Pump up the back to 50 PSI and the front down to 23-25 wich will make them about 30 when there hot. And thats pretty much it.

I have some maintence items to do before i can hit the track and moneys tight right now. based on my old time of 13.5 with a transmission that was slipping soooo bad that i had to set the 1-2 shift point at 5000 for it to actually shift at 6000 (and it would still hit the rev-limiter almost every time before it would shift.) and the fact that i installed a cam and went to a 2.8 from a 3.2 pulley I think i can pull those times off.

Assuming a good tune(wich it will be)I am guessing I will run around a 12.9-12.8 on street radials and around a 12.5-12.6 on slicks. And with the new addition of some nos im hoping to break 11's soon. very soon.

So I am HOPEING that a 2.8 from a 3.2 pulley + a built transmission (see sig for specs) from a horribly bad slipping one and an xp cam would be worth .6 tenths of a second. Shoot im pushing 18 psi as we speak with the current setup.

And no offense taken at all. Thats just the estimated goal for my times though.Im hopeing to be simi accurate lol.I've been suprisingly accurate with my guessing so far. A tenth of a second! I do a lot of reaserch and i pay real close attention on what people see from the parts they put on there cars.

And now that i have a new tranny it shifts within 300 rpm's of what i set it to shift at. On stock transmission tables!

I know how much a car pulls on you that is a second quicker ( i've raced many that i knew exactly how fast they were.) so thats what i was bassing that off of. But then again he could of been quicker or slower. It really depends on A LOT of conditions especially where you were at you power band vs. were he was. So it was just a guestimate.

Cool, I respect that. I always have respected the run what you brung attitude. I always never respected people you just gut there car for fast times and put them back together when going home. I guess its because I've seen fast cars race on the street and at the track and they didn't gut or do anything like that. As for tire mods, I don't mind that, nor do I mind slicks. Hell, i'm going to need a set next time I go out! LOL!

I donno what kinda street tires you'll be running, but traction may not be the easiest with your setup, just forwarning you. With Slicks and a 1.7-1.8 60 ft you'll defaintly have your best times, and the most fun I can promise that. These cars can be quite traction limited, even on fairly modest setups (no cam, etc).

Oh I think your goals are obtainable, no doubt in my mind. All I was saying is your setup right now as its setting maybe not be at peak potential now, know what I mean? It isn't completely dialed in so it may not be at your goal yet. Your setup is defaintly capable, no doubt, its been proven time and time again.

I'm glad. I was hoping my wording wasn't misleading to you. I wasn't being a dick at all honestly. It hard to type things without expressions, ya know? I have goals to I just don't express them because if I do with my luck they'll go the wrong way. I don't push my luck too much because I don't have any luck generally speaking.

Hey iron indian... what kind of slicks will you be running. I was thinking of going with the hoosier qtp's. I would kind of like to run a full slick but im not sure if there will be a huge bennefit or not. ya know?

Im sure i'll have some traction issues. I have street tires with a treadware of like 300 i think...so there not super hard but like you said slicks would be ideal. I'm sure when i do make it to the track it will almost feel like i have slicks because last time i went out it was on the bald stockers...i mean bald like showing thread lol. Probably stupid of me going out the in the first place like that.

But yeah i know what you mean about not being able to tell how people exactly mean something just with words and no voice. You seem like a straight up guy and always have.

TDC,

I plan on running Hoosier QTPs myself. They seem to proven themselves very well in the GP world as a good slick. Besides, most gp guys will tell you definatly go to slicks rather than drag radials and several have told me they regretted even getting DRs. With that said I figured i'd just go straight to slicks and skip the DRs period. I ran Z-rated Potenza RE730s years ago, damned if I got any better traction with them.

I was planning on running DR tire for daily driving/track use but hell if I don't get any better traction theres no point IMO. I'll just stick with street tires for the street and slicks for the traction, and maybe to occasional trouble making at the spot a couple miles down the road :-) RWD and FWD are in a league of there own when it comes to traction and how to get traction.

Definatly get the slicks dude, you'll get better 60fts no doubt. With a good launch and hook you should get 1.7-1.8 60fts and get the times you so desire. I haven't met anyone who regretted slicks yet. We both got built trannies, might as well have a little fun, right?

I ran my 12's in true street trim, only exception was taking my sub box out. Not taking the seats out or dropping the exhaust.

I've got DR's now, only reason for that is I don't have very much room to carry the jacks and spare wheels...plus, I got a killer deal on them. They were brand new for $135 from a friend. When I wear them out, then I'm getting QTP's
