well im not a ford guy at all and never will be but read throw this hole thing pretty much and to say that a mustang of any kind keeps up with a ls car is far from the truth put a bone stock ss against a cobra and see were you stand and to say that gm cant keep up with ford that fare from the truth every time ford comes out with something quik gm passes them like there standing still and i will put a the supercharged vett agianst the ford gt any day the only good compation for a gt are the gtp stock for stock but thats my out look on it

I'm a die hard Mustang guy and I hate to say it but any LS1-7 motors > 4.6-5.4 motors.

i owned a 98 trans am with just a cut out and a fipk i was kicking the hell out of hevily mooded gts all day long the last good mustang they ever came out with was the 5.0 fox and thats why there the most used for race cars and drag cars moduler motors suck and ford screwed up when they replaced the push rod motor with them but thats my opinion

stock for stock yes but with the money you spend on buying a stock 03 to 04 cobra you could have a 10 sec fox and still have money left over. The fox body is the most budget easy race car there is. hell you can take the 302 out and put a chevy 350 in and your running 11s then put a 150 shot on your in the 10s if the tranny and rear end can hold. Theres a group from oklahoma that did pretty close to that set up on a mustang and went to pinks twice and won both times and all the had in the car money wise was about 5grand so i will take a fox over a cobra any day

well yea a car that is about 20 years old i hope it would be kinda cheap. and there is no need for the chevy 350. the 5.0 block is pretty strong enough. ive seen people slap a 250 shot on a STOCK 5.0 block with an auto and stall and it was 9's all day. 200 plus passes on the motor and its still running strong.

i was camparing the 03 cobra motor to the 5.0 motor. i think the 03 cobra motor is far superior, the bottom ends can hold up to 600+ hp and they take to mods very well. not sayin the 5.0 is a bad motor but i think the 03 cobra motor took the cake with that one.

well im not dogging the cobra but im still a fox fan thats the only mustang i will ever own. Also i would like to see the 5.0 with a 250 shot on it running 9 and hasnt broke something in the motor or the tranny. The ls car can handel a 200 shot and it has a 6 bolt main. and about the other post nothing ford makes keeps up with chevy not even there roush or shelby gt 500 still getting out performed and and out ran bye chevy and it will always be like that
