| Well I ordered my ebay black headlights yesterday to replace my busted and ugly stockers and I figure I should go ahead and put some new bulbs in while I'm at it. I want bright and clean, no blue rice looking bulbs just bright clear clean white. What do you guys run? We have 9007's right? TIA -Adam

| If you stay with halogens look into the following options besides silverstars. With PIAA's your paying for the name. GE Nighthawks and Philips Xtreme power. They will appear a little more yellow than silverstars but they have a clear glass lens and maximum lumen output. The bluish colored glass limits light output.

| i had a pair of phillips Xtreme power, and they were very bright. Look into a 9007 relay harness also, gives your bulbs more volts, resulting in a brighter and whiter light. This is the relay harness i use, and can also splice hids into it very easy.] 9004 9007 Complete Head Lamp Wiring with Relay System Kit |

Adding a relay harness is the most noticeable way to get brighter light form halogen bulbs. The brightest 9007 bulb you're going to find is the Philips X-treme Power. Avoid the blue tinted bulbs. The blue tint filters out light, which will never make the bulb brighter. The Sylvania SilverStars use a hotter burning filament, which produces more light (making them as bright through the blue tint as a regular un-tinted bulb) but shortens the bulb life.

| Forget all those...If you use a 9005 or 9006 bulb go to your John Deere dealership and get some HIR bulbs (Halogen Infrared) HIR Headlights 9011 9012 bulbs read up on these https://jdparts.deere.com/servlet/co...umber=AH211917 John Deere they are only about $14.00 each for 75% more light output! I was ensured that the price was for a pair...In fact it was for a single...John Deere must be catching on to this trick. Last edited by BryanB; 01-27-2010 at 08:44 AM. |

So the 211917 you mention here is the bulb to replace ours? If so, I'll just call and have them put a set aside for me. |

| the John Deere part number is ALMOST a 9006 bulb. You remove about 3mm of plastic from them...a nail clippers does the job nicely...and they'll go right in! |

| HIR bulbs do not come in 9007. So you don't need to worry about those. The 04+ people can use them as well as those who use the projectors on 97-03's. As stated any bulb that does not have a blue coating is a good bulb. Nighthawks and philips xtreme power are nice choices. You can run a relay harness to have the battery powering the bulbs instead of the factory wiring. Silverstars have a blue coating and tend to burn up quickly due to sylvania having the filiment burn hotter. If you decide to run high wattage clear bulbs then definitely get a relay harness, or your wires may melt. This is if you want to stick with halogens.
