There was a guy here on an RC forum (more like a playground then a forum, seriously) and he was selling a roller (just like a real car, did you guess that there was everything but an engine? good guess!) and he wanted $200 + Shipping. Well, since my buddy wanted a truck I decided this would be a good buy and he could use one of my extra engines for now.

So here is the deal, in full.
$200 for the truck.
$25 is the estimated shipping cost.
Payment method : Paypal

$225 shipped if you can add numbers together.

So I agree to paypal him $225 and he will ship out the truck asap. The deal was done mostly over the phone, txt & call and on msn. Well, he asks me if I could send him the money as a gift, instead of a regular payment to avoid fees. Little red flag going up here, Fees on a $200 purchase is going to be like 6 dollars. I've thrown away car parts worth more then that. I tell him flat out that I don't know him well enough yet to be sending payment for an item as a gift, I am pretty sure it's not as safe as regular. He says fine and to just paypal him $225 normally. So I do.

A few minutes later after the payment has been sent he starts *****ing about the $6.83 fee. He says he got the short end of the deal and that shipping could be over $18 and that would mean he got less then $200. Well sorry folks, thats just how things go. Blame paypal for taking out a fee so they can insure you when you make a bad transaction to a shady guy, like this person. He then says "well I'm going to send the money back until I find out the shipping cost sorry" and he refunds me, and signs off msn. And I'm thinking. "Wow, he wouldn't sell me the truck unless it was sent as a 'gift'.. seems like a schyster to me." So in result of his quick back out and leaving, I text him and I'm like "hey? what went wrong where'd you go? I can cover fees if that's what you want." Because literally, $6.83 is not that big of deal. Thats like cruising around town for an hour or two, I'll just watch TV tonight and call it even.

So in result of this I put a thread up on the forum we were both on in the trader feedback section. And basically told the people there what happened. And like one or two guys off of that forum replied and said things like "Oh well you didn't do the transaction the RIGHT way" or "Oh well he would have been $2 short because shipping is more like $20 instead of $18" and "You should have just PM'd him about this problem"... Okay. First off.. PM = Personal Message. I texted the guy, and we were chatting on MSN. It doesn't get more personal message like then having the guys number. Transaction the "RIGHT" way? Gift vs Send Money. Well I don't just give my money away so I bought the item legally on paypal, I'd call that the RIGHT way, sorry if you disagree. And $2 short.... Reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally? Reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally? Reaaa... CMON lol.

As a result of me saying "hey guys, watch out, this guy seems kind of shady" I get my thread DELETED. Yeah, DELETED. Someones obviously hiding some ****. It sucked! I felt bad when I left.
Many were camped out in chairs behind their cars staring at you checking out their car, hate that. Makes me move on pretty quick.
Even worse there were people hanging out inside their cars making it feel like you are intruding their space! Its a car show!

Negative attitudes were all over the place. I watched a guy making fun of a Skyline because it had primer on the back quarter.
Its a F^@$in Skyline! who cares about primer. Meanwhile this jerks Altima was decorated with frost pink trim and womens shoes!

The only Wbody was an Impala that was lowered and it seemed like his mods were cosmetic and stereo stuff. He was having his girlfriend take pics of him posing with it. Down on one knee, arms folded, chin up, lips puckered, glaring at the camera. UGH!:th_shakinghead2: Did not feel like asking him about the car.

Why do people feel the need to grab, shake and open anything they please! I noticed it was actually mostly older people.

Then there were a few rich kids that had some pretty kick a$$ cars that there was no way they could have worked for. They were busy guarding their cars, their girls and giving people the finger!

Should have been a good day but it left me feeling pretty crappy. I guess everyone must have felt the same. 1. All Lawns must be kept up with the community ( We have a guy that does that)
2.Speed limit is 20mph ( you really cant go over cause there are usually people walking)

I put my head-unit in works great really f'in loud w/o subs. So I switch over my battery terminals to the decent kind instead of the crappy flat aluminum ones that was on my car. I go to start it up after I get my 0 gauge wire ran (oh yeh ran into alot of problems with that but they where ez fixes) anyway on with the story. Go to start the car all it dose is kill all the electronics like it should to get max volts to starter then nothing no clicks nothing. So after I took off my positive cable and cleaned/put the power wires in a better spot on the clamps like 15 times to get a better connection (I only changed the positive for now will get to the negative latter today) Needless to say by this time I'm po'ed off b/c just spent the past 3 hours running all the stuff and now my car wont start. Then I noticed something I HAD THE CAR IN 1ST GEAR!!!! I put it there so I had more access to the head-unit. Then after I put it in park it just clicks like 600 times then nothing. Figuring it was still a bad connection I moved the positive cable on the battery for the 600000th time still just clicks. At this time I remember my negative is still loose (on the battery with connection just not tightened down) Got all that done and found out my battery was dead b/c this hole time the car wont start it is raining outside so I'm soaking wet and I was blaring music. I found out it was dead because I looked at my DIC and noticed it said 9.4 volts battery. Hooked up the battery charger let it charge for about 10 min and the car starts. Once I get to the Verizon store I start looking for something that wasn't a blackberry or a droid, because even though the phones look pretty, that 30 dollar a month data plan is ugly, but I understand that fee, because its a smart phone! So I am looking for a CELL PHONE, not a pocket computer. I already bought a new computer, why should I want to go online with my phone on a 2 inch screen?

So I finally settle on the enV touch, because I do actually text, and the keys are big enough for my big hands. Turns out Verizon requires a 10 dollar a month data plan on this non-smart phone. I quickly realized that every phone in the building needs a data plan (either 10 or 30 bucks a month) except for about 5 phones that are no better than the Razr that I am stuck with now.

Cant switch carriers because my dad gets some discount thru GM. Call me a cheapskate, but I am not paying for some data plan that I am not going to use, on a phone that does not require a data plan for the phone to function properly. What ever happened to pay as you go? If I go online, then charge me. Google "verizon wireless data plan requirement" and be entertined for hours at the hundreds of people who are just as mad as I am.

At some points it feels like my car is rolling in mud, mostly on the highway when I'm doing like 50 and I try to speed up to pass a car. I hit 58,000 miles today and i have a warranty up until 64,000 miles. Now I don't have much experience with warranty companies but I hear they only replace something when it fails. Now it sounds like a transmission problem (I hit the same thing with my Ford Focus) but I'm not sure if they will fix this problem now or I'll have to wait til the thing won't move at all. Anyone got any tips? Also, has anyone tried extended warranty companies like the ones on TV?
