are Comp G rims lighter?

    ive read this claim somewhere but are these COMP G rims (without tires) lighter then other rims that came on same era grand prixs?

    Doubt it.

    An AVG weight for a 16-17in rim is 18-20 lbs for our cars.

    They say the 94-96 rims are 16-18 lbs.

    But we have no proof of any of this, because no one has pictures or anything.

    i was hoping someone had some rims they could weigh but u read somewhere that a comp g had upgraded suspension, different brakes, 3.29 gears, and lighter rims

    no its just one of those Grand Prix myths i was hoping to clear up with facts lol i would love those rims if they wernt facing the wrong way on one side of the car....stupid gm cheapness

    even porsche wheels are like that. noone will notice regardless.

    Torque stars are the lightest stock wheels as far as I know at 16lb. Those comp G wheels are probably the same weight.

    So... To answer your original question, yes. The comp g wheels are most likely the lightest weight rims of the last generation Grand Prix.

    alright good deal! and yes i would notice it just looks retarded how they do that, corvette wheel dont do that there spinning the right way on both sides of the car

    i have the comp g wheels and never noticed that until you just mentioned they don't spin the right way. I'm kind of pissed off now every time from here on out i will be cussing out GM for this when i wash my car or just looking at the passenger side.

    i feel your pain i had torque stars and there the same way, made the passenger side of my car look like crap

    If youre referring to the 97-03 torque stars Id have to disagree. They arent that noticeable compared to others.

    Haha. Alright. I was always bothered by directional rims but I have never really been bothered by the torque stars. By far the best stock wheel that you could get for the car. IMO

    What matters more: the ability to rotate your tires and prolong their life, or how it looks for the 10 seconds it takes to walk up to it?
