Parts/Tools Required

Supplies needed:
Drill
1 or 2 drill bits (depending on if you are flushmounting the led or bass knob.)
hot glue or quick dry epoxy
hot glue gun
bass knob
phillips screwdriver (to take apart bass knob)

Steps

This is easier with the console out, while it is not impossible to do it with the console in, I do not suggest it.

How to:

First things first. Take out the console, and take apart the bass knob.

My bass knob, along with most look something like this. Way to big and bulky for mounting in a car for my personal taste.

The 2 screws is all that holds it together. Take the screws out and pull on the rotary knob and it will come off. Then Pull the two halves apart. All you need is the circuit board and the rotary dial and its knob.

The part you need should look something like this:

Next mask off the area on the cosole where it met the dash. This is used as a guideline so you know where to drill holes. You dont want all this work to be hidden behind the dash do you?

Next mark the line where the knob will be going, I used masking tape to keep it in a straight line, because I plan on doing more than 1 for my multiple amps. I also lay the bass knob on the masking tape and mark its front and rear position so I get an area where to drill the hole.

Now time to drill the hole, but you dont know what size bit to use? I just find one that is slightly bigger than the dial, so it barely fits through the hole.

This method is sufficient in finding one, it may not be super accurate but it is effective.

Now drill the hole. Not so bad.

Getting ready for the next step, you can see my bass knob has an led, but how do we mount that neatly?

You can see the led off to the side.

Now time to flip the console over and mark the hole for the led. If you do not have an led on your bass knob then skip the next couple of steps. I just put the bass knob in the hole then marked both sides of the led in its position.
I marked a square so it is easier to find the spot to drill.

Now drilling the hole is a little different on this one. You need a really small bit for this, I used one that was 3 sizes smaller than the led itself.
You can barely see the hole I drilled.

That little hole is just big enough for the led to be seen through, all you have to do now is stick the bass knob (and led) in place and hot glue (or epoxy it) in position.
Like this:

Once dryed and in place tight enough to where the dial doesn't wiggle just rotates, put the knob cover back on. I wasn't impressed with the knob cover that cam with it so I used ones from an extra rockford fosgate bass knob I had lying around.
This is the one with the cover I used:

Check it out, looks stock (if you didn't no better) and you can't even see the hole for the led unless you are looking for it. Don't worry I use this led mounting method on all alarm led's I install it is bright I promise.

A broader shot:

Now install back in car and enjoy bass knob adjustability, and good looks.
