Locate the LEDs in the fogs Pull the LEDs out with the rubber grommet The LEDs will look like this Pull the LEDs and wiring out through the grommet making sure to leave the wires in the grommet. Cut off the LEDs to be replaced These are the LEDs I picked out. I went with white because red or blue sat uneasy with me. You need to bend the leads on the LEDs like this Take care to make sure the short leads are togehter and the long ones are too. I also put a little heat shrink on the leads to hold them while I work Now grab the wiring where you previously cut off the LEDs. I like to put a little solder on the wire first. After putting a little solder on the wire I can solder the leads to the wires. Make sure to put heat shrink on before you solder. Pulling things apart to put on heat shrink sucks. You can't just cut the heat shrink length wise and put it on that way(I should know i tried). Heat the up the heat shrink, you can use a heat gun but I use a lighter. Just hold the flame under the heat shrink(don't light the heat shrink) and use the heat of the lighter to shrink it. Turn it over and repeat. Now pull the wiring carefully(little thicker than before)back through the grommet. Now they are ready to go back in I haven't had a chance to see if i wired them correctly yet, If you keep the short leads with the long leads then when installing back in the car you should only have to switch the wires if you can't remember which wire is neg and which is positive |
