Aftermarket Door speakers

This is a discussion on Aftermarket Door speakers within the Audio, Security & Visual Electronics forums, part of the W Body Tech category; so i wanna replace all my speakers with high-quality kickers..i know the 2 rear spekers in the back are 6X9's ...

    Default Aftermarket Door speakers

    so i wanna replace all my speakers with high-quality kickers..i know the 2 rear spekers in the back are 6X9's but what size is the door speakers and whats the size of the one built in the dash...also this is a 2006 GP.

    5 1/4 in the doors but 6 1/2s will work. 4" in dash. I'll sell ya my Kicker RS6.5 if you want. I used them for about 2 months. Has all the hardware box and instructions. They sounded good on the kicker amp.
    OverKill PCM, PRJ 10.4 Wires, AutoLite 605, WizAir CAI, ZZP Plog, 2.5" Down Pipe, 3.5 Pulley, 180* Tstat, Borla Exhaust MECA SQ JL AUDIO 500/1, 300/4, 2-10W3V2, XR650-CSI, Kenwood DDX-6019 , Alpine amp and JL TR400CX center channel , 300 lbs of Dynamat.

    Will 6.5's fit in the doors of a 2002 2 door gt? If so is there modifying that has to be done?

    Not too sure about 02 but I would imagine so. There was no cutting of the door involved just the plastic mount that held it. I also made a spacer out wood since the kickers are fairly deep. All in all it was easy and well worth it in my oppinion.
