Adding HUD and a DIC to your 97-03 GP

im trying to do this mod to my 99 gp but i dont know where to find the harness, can anybody tell me where i should look for it? its a 99 so it should be there right?

99s don't have the harnesses. only 97s and 98s have them because GTP was a factory option on GTs for those years, rather than being a model of its own.

so im gonna have to do all the splicing?

i do believe. if you whip out your DIC and look down to the side near the glove the harness would be there. the HUD switch harness would be inside the dash. take the instrument cluster out and it'd be down to the right about where the switch would go.

Ive got a question I am trying to install a hud on my 99 gt and the plugs I have to got to the hud switch is a 6 pin plug that has only five wires in it and the wiring chart shows that there are seven wires to the switch and the switch has seven pins? do i need a new plug?

isnt the windshield glass between the hud cars and non hud cars different?

no it is the same

every company and gm says theres a difference in the glass between a hud car and a non hud car though. can u see the hud on the glass?

Technically the glass is different because there is a little reflective section within in the windshield so you can see the HUD better. I know this from looking at a windshield with HUD and Non HUD. You can still see the HUD on the normal windshield though.

Ok. So I have a 1997 GP GT and it has a 2000 engine in it. Would I still have to buy the '97 DIC or can i go with the '98-'03?

depends wether you are still running the 97 pcm or if you are running the 2000. If you are still running the 97 pcm I have a digital dic. If you are runningthe 2000 pcm you will have to find the 98 02 dic that does not have tire pressure on it.

I have a '97 GP GT with a '00 engine. Will this effect what DIC I need? Do I still need to buy the '97 DIC or can i get the '98-'03 DIC's?

I have a '99gp se does it have the same harness as a gt or do I need the pigtails and splicing in the mix dic only

Have looked but cant find anything. Can a 2000 GTP HUD be installed into 04+ GP??? What are the differences???

nope the pcm and dic wont communicate kind of like the 97 and any of the other years.

Unfortunately the HUD from a 2000 will not work in an 04 or above. Most of it is wiring related and the dash itself wouldn't allow the fitment for the 2000 HUD as far as i know.
