    Default acceleration issues

i posted this a while back and am still @ a stand still I have a 2006 GP GT, 3.8 SC. My car will not accelerate properly once i hit 30 MPH. Hell. it wont accelerate @ all unless i barely...and i mean barely press the gas pedal. I have no check engine light on. I also took of O2 sensor near the cat and the CAT is not the issue here. Someone please help b/c i am @ my wits end and don't wan't to go pay $80-$100 for a diagnostic.

Does it feel like the car loses power or does it feel like something is holding the engine back?

check the wires to the plug on the TB, and look over the gas pedal its self, you got a switch under the pedal, instead of a cable. could be as simple as a pebble stuck under it jamming the switch.

it doesn't really lose power...it will still accelerate very very slow if i barely push the gas pedal, however if i push the gas pedal down further...it just bogs down and doesnt accelerate @ all after 30 MPH

pop the air tube off the TB, and have someone hit the gas, so to see if the butterfly is working right.

Sounds like it could potentially be the pedal position sensor but that should throw a code.

He means the throttle plate inside the throttle body...it's how the air gets in the engine.

    yeah what hes said.

with that being said, have you ever cleaned the TB, they get gummed up and stick, so if its not opening up it will flood the engine with gas, and not go fast with out the proper air being let in.

and a extremely clogged air filter will also choke your engine out. check that as well.

heres a how to, this is for the older model, you wont have throttle cables to deal with. or the maf in the TB. same deal to get it off and clean it tho.

Well. i changed out the front drivers side wheel assembly (hub) b/c i know the wheel bearing was bad...Once i changed it...it fixed the acceleration issue. However my car shakes and vibrates when i accelerate. I was told this was the CV Joint (i know they need to be changed b/c they click when u turn). Would this be the inner or outer CV Joint? This is an area i don't have much expertise in.
