Default 99 GTP A/C works great, then stops, then works great again

Hello fellow Grand Prix lovers. I was wondering if anyone else has had a solution to my problem. I own a 99 Grand Prix GTP. The compressor was replaced a year ago and my A/C is super cold. One day the car was sitting while running with the A/C on and the compressor just cut off and would not come on again. Since I'm in Florida where A/C is a must I hightailed it home. After turning the car back on the A/C worked fine again. Later that week it did the same thing when I was sitting at the bank. This time I turned off the air and tried it a few minutes later while going down the road. It worked fine and didn't give me any more trouble. THe other day I was driving down the road and the A/C just shut down. Same thing happened. I waited awhile then tried it and it worked fine again. I swapped out the A/C relay in the fuse box with an identical one that was used for something else but this had no effect. I just wondered if anyone knew if there is a sensor or connector somewhere that has problems with intermittent results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a pressure shut off switch for the compressor. Also please don't type in bold.... BOLD=FAIL

Thanks for the info. Sorry for the bold. Have any idea where this switch is located?

Try the connector on the compressor, sometimes can come loose.

Also wondered since the switch is working most of the time if it's servicable or if there's a connector issue at that switch?

Probably just a bad connection at the compressor.
