Re: Stupid Question Brake torque it (hold the gas and brake) until the stall speed of the torque converter so you load it right. Then, on go you don't mash the gas. You need to practice to find the right throttle point where you accelerate hardest without spinning your tires. As you launch, you can give it more gas as your tires get moving without breaking them loose.
Spinning tires only wastes energy and they take longer to get energy to the ground. It's all about the balance, but you have to practice. Also, resist doing smokey burnouts. Enough of those and your differential (for lack of a better word) explodes. |
