Re: how to launch Yah, really all you want to do is be able to bring the rpms up just enough so that the suspension tightens/preloads on the launch so you don't rock back like a rocking chair as much. Just hit the gas and brake very slowly raise the rpms until you feel it letting go. Do that real slow a few times and then get better at it so you can do it quickly and feel it instead of looking at the tach. You don't need to keep the rpms up to the point that it is lunging the car, just the point where your comfortable to drop the hammer and not spin like hell.
The reason you put it in 3rd is because manual shifting won't help you and you don't want it shifting into overdrive down the track.
If you really need everything, move both front seats as far forward as you can for extra front weight... might laugh at first but it might help.
