This is a discussion on 3.5 inch outlet tips within the Visual/Body Modifications forums, part of the W Body Tech category; for the people who are running these did you have to grind the bumper at all because the tips melted ...

    for the people who are running these did you have to grind the bumper at all because the tips melted the plastic?

    I purchased some of those and they didn't melt the plastic.

    I took them to a body welder to install them and they look awesome. I say go for it. Makes me wonder how come GM didn't use those kinds and used ugly ones instead.

    We had to trim mine a bit because i wanted them pushed in more.

    I ground off the 1/4" lip that surrounds the exhaust holes just to be sure. Took 4 minutes. It gives you an extra 1/2" for the tips to move around when you hit bumps and such.

    03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.

    2.25...when i had mine put on the shop had to make a little expanded adapter.
