255lph without Hotwire swap?

was wondering if anyone had any input on this topic I was hoping to be able to run the 255 Fuel Pump I purchased without having to upgrade the wiring right away
if it is something that is needed It will be my next purchase but if without tune and mods I will be able to run the stock wiring safely until I upgrade injectors in a couple weeks at which point I would just order the hotwire kit with injectors to save myself some shipping

this was suppose to be a replacement and not so much an upgrade thats the reasoning for wanting to wait on the hotwire

Stock wiring sucks for stock fuel pump.

lol ok so I'll take that as a you can but you shouldn't which was pretty much what I read

the stock wiring is shotty which causes the stock pumps to fail but most say that the pumps themselves are pretty solid

so maybe just a worse case scenario when they say running a larger pump can cause electrical issues as it draws more power...blowing fuses or relays constantly?

the stock wiring would have to hold out for about a week and a half before the hotwire kit arrives I'm just kinda wondering if it would be safe to drive in the meantime or if doing so could cause something catastrophic

your fuel pressure might drop off, and make tuning hilarious.

But you should have a fuel pressure gauge.

wouldnt just giving it a fuel pressure test anytime I think it might be a concearn viable had never read anything on that being one of the things that should be constantly
monitored right now I had really only been scanning and watching trans temps misfires intake temps knock retard boost vac and fuel trims

lol ok in my head worse case has two scenario's
a. the new pump will put so much drain it burns out my alternator and every fuse/relay on the way to it
b. involves it drawing so much power it heats the wires to the point of coating melting and having an arc in my fuel tank = BOOM

best case scenario it will be fine on the stock wiring without tuning and will blow out a fuse before doing any damage to the pump or electrical system

it seems like the whole system as far as what could short is contained inside the canister free from gas so that might be alarmist on my part but I hope you understand what my concerns are I figured someone might chime in hey Ive had one on stock wiring for 20k miles np and put me at ease

The stock wiring isn't shoddy. It's undersized for modding. That's why you put on a hotwire kit. It increases the size of the wire from about 16-18 gauge to about 10-12 gauge.
